Lisa photographed my horse Tristan's Taco who, as it turned out, loved the camera. He was my first horse and a childhood dream fulfilled. I wanted to capture his beauty and character. Lisa revealed character in him I didn't even know he had. The photos she took were so creative; his lines and curves, his textures and dimensions, his expressions and his adorable lips. She brought out the best in him. Lisa was great to work with. She was fun to be with and enthusiastic about the project. Her creativity captured Tristan as she saw him, a wonderful, lovable creature. In addition to the photos of Tristan, Lisa helped me expand the theme with a montage of rustic images from a collection of photos she had taken at a ranch in Idaho. We selected a range of complimentary images (both abstract and actual). The montage is both a work of art and a personal experience captured.

A few years ago I renovated my kitchen and butler’s pantry and wanted something really different to decorate the wall space. Lisa surveyed the space, listened to my vision and created twenty-two gorgeous images that far surpassed what I had envisioned. Lisa was enjoyable and easy to work with. I didn’t have to micromanage the project. She picked up on what I wanted right away, offered suggestions and went to work. The entire process from consultation to deciding the order the images would be hung, was worry free. What Lisa produced for me are not just framed photos of fruit and vegetables but timeless pieces of art.

Travelling to New York City from the Midwest is not a trip, but rather like coming home. And when desiring a keepsake, I thought of the view from my favorite hotel that is quintessential New York. Not just any image that can be purchased from a neighborhood sale or vendor, but rather a glimpse of what the city really means to me. In trying to find the right person to get this thought from mind to paper, I was referred to Lisa Sorensen. Without ever meeting in person, she worked with me over the phone and through the internet to conceptualize the background, locate the shot, capture the image, enlarge (to over 4' wide), print and ship. The final product was accomplished timely and in such a professional manner, that I now have that same view of the Upper West Side as I saw from my room, now hanging above my sofa. Thanks Lisa!

When Kevin and I opened Dobbs & Bishop Fine Cheese Shop nearly two years ago, Lisa Sorensen came in to show us her soulful photographic portraits of dairy animals. Our logo shows a cow and her calf, and we wanted to showcase the relationship of a mother animal and her baby. Cheese is widely made from the milk of four dairy animals, cows, goats, sheep and buffalo--Lisa was missing only the buffalo. She had an inspiration about a buffalo farm she had seen on the eastern end of Long Island. She promised she would try to capture a mother buffalo and her calf. When she returned from her expedition, we had our collection. After many meetings, we agreed on a size and format for the portraits and Lisa carefully hung the four portraits to minimize glare and make the best showcase for the work. We have loved working with Lisa and now we enjoy the personality of the animals she captured in our store every day.
